On our trip to Melbourne recently which we absolutely loved, there were a few things that really bothered me about this coffee ‘snob’ culture in Melbourne that we had heard so much about and I would love to talk about it. There were two more things that made my eyebrows lift with slight shock and they were the amount of homeless people on the streets of Melbourne and the absolutely huge amount of people who were smoking! I will discuss the latter two in another blog as ‘coffee talk’ can go on forever….lol Continue reading No Coffee Snobs Allowed, Just Give Me My Bloomin’ XX ‘HOT’ Latte…
Rick and I have thought for a long time now that if we decided on some beautiful acres somewhere out bush with rolling hills, where all you could see would be the cows, horses and wildlife roaming free and how wonderful would that be to design your own home out of shipping containers. These are blank canvases for you and your imagination, how amazing these could look if we sat down and thought about it. But not only that, how much cheaper the whole process would be compared to having a house built or buying an existing home. As they are becoming more and more popular amongst our culture, the simplicity of the whole process would work well for us, just so long as the local council within that area would approve them. We have seen them for sale already manufactured as a dwelling and which is about 4.8 metres x 6.0 metres all decked out with bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and lounge room with timber floors for about $28,000. Still cheap as chips! Continue reading Ever Thought About Building A Home Out Of Shipping Containers?
Less laundry, less time spent cleaning, less standing in front of the closet trying to figure out what to wear, less rushing, less bills, more money and the list goes on…
But at the same time that we want less, we grasp for more. (this is true for most of us)
Somewhere along the line we bought into society’s way of thinking that EXCESS = SUCCESS; which is totally not true at all..

After recently spending 10 days in the stunning city of Singapore, I was totally blown away with many of its attributes. I had only ever been in transit in Singapore due to traveling to other Asian countries but never actually set foot outside Changi Airport. Continue reading SINGAPORE – Through My Eyes!

I am not an expert on marriage but I can proudly say that I have been married to the same man for 41 years, so I guess that gives me some credit speaking and sharing on ‘how to strengthen your marriage’. I do not travel all over the world to exotic locations with famous people, I don’t drive a Mercedes-Benz, I don’t have millions in the bank, I don’t drink champagne nor do I own a yacht ( I get sea-sick anyway), my closest friends aren’t celebrities or posh people, they are sincere, fun and what I would call a ‘real’ friend and I love doing life with them, I don’t have hundreds and hundreds of ‘friends’ (and I say that lightly because there’s another blog on: “Who are your ‘real’ friends”), I have the challenges in life that everyone does ..and I am still very happy and love my life..
Here are just 9 points that I’ve learned about living well: Continue reading DO YOU LIVE WELL?
Never get so ‘busy’ making a living that you forget to make a ‘life’. Oooh, how true is this one? Rick and I are at this place right at this point…We are consistently reminding ourselves that we cannot get yesterday back but we can make the most of today, tomorrow and the next day and the next day if we want! It’s totally our choice!
This is more of a personal blog on my behalf. As I was walking along the beach this morning, this particular song played and it always brings a tear to my eye. WHY? Because I had always thought that I was the one that lost out on having a good relationship with my mum, but now I know that ‘my mother’ is the one that lost out big time! Continue reading THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO TELL MY MUM BUT CAN’T….
When I first got married, I was a person that didn’t ask many questions, I was very inhibited and naive. I mistakenly believed that as a good person or a leader, I should know the answers to everyone’s questions. As a result, I adopted the ridiculous attitude of “fake it ’til you make it.” Unfortunately, that caused me to do a lot of faking but very little making. That kind of teaching is really false and misleading in our world today and so many times I have seen devastation in people’s lives financially from doing this!
