DO YOU LIVE WELL?

I do not travel all over the world to exotic locations with famous  people,  I don’t drive a Mercedes-Benz,  I don’t have millions in the bank, I don’t drink champagne nor do I own a yacht ( I get sea-sick anyway), my closest friends aren’t celebrities or posh people, they are sincere, fun and what I would call a ‘real’ friend and I love doing life with them, I don’t have hundreds and hundreds of ‘friends’ (and I say that lightly because there’s another blog on: “Who are your ‘real’ friends”), I have the challenges in life that everyone does ..and I am  still very happy and love my life..

Here are just 9 points that I’ve learned about living well: Continue reading DO YOU LIVE WELL?

POWERING BEYOND THE DREAM

“What do you do once you have fulfilled your dream?”

That is a good question because for many people after reaching their ultimate goal, they end up taking a nose dive. You may have noticed this especially in the sporting arena where a team may play at an exceptional level to win the championship. Only to find that the following year with same players and the same coach they struggle to win a game. Continue reading POWERING BEYOND THE DREAM

BECOMING IS MORE POWERFUL THAN GETTING!

People who are successful in any endeavor have “become something” well before they actually received their prize or achieved their goal.

Any athlete would know that to win an Olympic Gold medal they must first go through the process of “becoming” world class.

The truth is,  in life it is more important who you become than what you are getting. Most people are busy trying Continue reading BECOMING IS MORE POWERFUL THAN GETTING!

As you’ve no doubt discovered, there’s not always a relation between how much you spend and what you get. Ever invest in a $180 pair of walking shoes only to discover that the $25 pair in your closet is more comfortable? Living in Australia, the United States and many other places, the cost of living is becoming more out of reach for many people. People are looking more and more, debt free, to have more of a simple life and to enjoy the finer things in life at a very low cost option, learn different cultures and tastes.

How would you like to live near the beach, a stone’s throw from the sand and the deep-blue ocean waves?

You’d have here plenty of stores and seafood restaurants (with fresh-caught fish to enjoy anytime you like). Only instead of a half-million dollar price tag… you could have a two-bed, two-bath condo in a development with a large pool and 24-hour guard, right in town, for around $70,000…

Or how about your own retreat in Italy? In a secret retreat few foreigners have ever heard of (a city travertine-paved, with medieval monuments and rich in Renaissance splendor), there is plenty to keep you occupied: an art exhibit among Roman ruins, cinema under the stars in a 15th-century cloister, concerts in the piazza, a twice-weekly market that rolls into town. Less than three hours from Rome, you can rent an apartment here from $530 a month or own an airy, well-maintained two-bedroom apartment right in the thick of things with a balcony and a garage for a modest $121,000.

How (and exactly where) to live a millionaire’s lifestyle for less than $2,000 a month. I’m talking about a great find in Southeast Asia. For $1,500 to $2,000 a month a couple can live large. Really large. That sum, for instance, includes rent on an ocean-view condo of 1,300 square feet (in a high-end building with an infinity pool and a gym)… for as little as $800 a month.

Just a few reasons why we need to leave our ‘comfort bubble’:

  • For the adventure of it – to learn a new language, make new friends, and explore a new world.
  • To live more luxuriously than you ever could at home, for a fraction of the cost.
  • To find more time to spend with your family, to pen that book you’ve always thought about writing, or to spend your mornings fishing or snorkeling.
  • To escape the 9-to-5 drudgery of a day job and work for yourself, to completely reinvent yourself, or not work at all if that’s what you choose.
  • For a better quality of life; to live happier, healthier, and with less stress.
  • To find the perfect weather, where you never again have to shovel snow, scrape ice from your windows, or heat your house.

Southeast Asia is a region of the world that is, indeed, far away from some of us – but the values once you’re there are truly extraordinary. This region attracts over a million medical tourists a year – which means it’s a place where you can access high-quality treatment at remarkably low prices.

There is an excellent Expat group of people is that what you want to be involved in also. One persons take on living in Asia: “I can take a yoga class, get a manicure and pedicure, have a massage, meet my friends for happy hour, and do it all for less than $30!”

This is one thing that we keep telling ourselves, especially when you get to a certain age (or not) that you only live once so let’s live it well. Sometimes it is taking a risk, but in all of that risk can come the sense of fulfillment, satisfaction, relief, and a thought as to ‘why didn’t we do this earlier!’

Happy Adventuring..
